Landscape as a genre within photography or painting is perhaps thought of as being fixed firmly within in the traditional view in relation to subject matter or content.

along the line is a project that concerns itself with challenging preconceived notions of what traditional landscape is, but more specifically within the context of the North Wales region and an area of Wales, which  prides itself as having natural and national outstanding beauty.

Commissioned and funded by the Arts Council of Wales between 2006 & 2010,  along the line took 2 years  to produce on large and medium film formats, and as a project that was personal to me, it is not only an attempt to challenge and reinterpret traditional views of landscape, but it is also my personal attempt to reconsider a space and place that has been the backdrop to my upbringing and therefore my sense of identity ever since.
