While working for a satellite television station in London as a cameraman between 2004 & 2006, I found myself in what was perhaps a unique situation of being able photograph and document an aspect of working life that I felt, at the time was at worse surreptitious, and at best an empowering situation for the individuals that I was working with.

Beyond the job that we were doing at that time, all the women working for the channel led normal lives. They were paying mortgages, they were single parents, had husbands, boyfriends, children, extra jobs and many of them were also educated to degree level.

But because of the financial pressure of living in a city such of London, it meant that they simply had to do extra, and this was an option.
