In April 2004 I travelled throughout Cuba on a trip that was in no way tourist based.

I was travelling with a Spanish speaker, and because of this, when planning our journey together, we decided not be conventional and booked only to stay in communist state approved guest houses allover the country. By registering themselves as state approved holiday accommodation, these 'privately' owned guest houses had to agree to pay a set income to the Fabian state each month in spite if they had made the money or not.

Consciously travelling through the country in this way provided an honest and unique perspective of the space that we were visiting. Just a small amount of the work is presented  here and it will be continued to be added to.
